The AGILA Legal Aid Service (ALAS) is committed to protecting personal data in accordance with Republic Act No. 10173, the Data Privacy Act of 2012, its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and issuances of the National Privacy Commission.

2. Data We Collect

We collect personal information from members, applicants, clients, referrers, and donors — including identity details, contact information, professional credentials (such as Roll of Attorneys number), Eagles membership details, and information necessary to render legal aid services.

3. How We Use Data

Personal data is processed for membership administration, legal aid coordination, case management, volunteer tracking, event administration, donations processing, and statutory compliance. Case files are accessible only to assigned lawyers under strict confidentiality.

4. Security Measures

ALAS implements role-based access control, encryption of sensitive documents, audit logging, document version control, and granular permissions to protect data against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

5. Retention and Disposal

Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for the declared purposes or as required by law, after which it is securely disposed of in accordance with our retention policy.
